Vignobles Gabriel & Co is the story of a shared family passion, crystallised in a collective committed to ethical wine. The winegrowers are bound by a charter of commitments and are promoting the Right Bank and its treasures. A daily commitment, orchestrated by a dedicated team.
Jean-François Reaud inherited the estate in 1985. The seven remaining hectares of vines were purchased that year by Gabriel Bruneteau’s great-great grandson. He embarked on an impressive undertaking, reorganizing and modernizing the family vineyard, which expanded and diversified.
By the end of the 1990s, the estate had grown to 25 hectares and was known as Château Le Grand Moulin. In 2011, Jean-François Réaud agreed to use the name Château Les Aubiers, a family name, to transform the original 25 hectares to organic farming.
Château Les Aubiers’ wines are now produced from 44 hectares of organically grown grapes, including tenant farms. Jean-François Réaud, who has been working tirelessly since 2011, expanded the surface of Château Le Grand Moulin to 81 hectares today, in traditional farming. In 2015, he bought the Château Haut Sociondo, a 15,5-hectare treasure vineyard in Blaye that had been a partner of Vignobles Gabriel & Co since 2012.
To satisfy increased market demand, he wanted to go even further, forming an alliance to promote Right Bank wine delivery and promotion. He joined forces with many neighboring estates to improve the reputation of their wines after being convinced of the advantages of mutual assistance in the winegrowing industry. This marked the beginning of Vignobles Gabriel & Co, the birth of a new family, and the maturation of Gabriel Bruneteau’s company. The narrative has come full circle.
The success of Vignobles Gabriel & Co is due to a receptive and dedicated team with a clear understanding of all administrative functions. They allow men and women in the field to perform their jobs in the vineyard and warehouse in the best possible conditions. They are all members of one big family, and they all contribute to the success of Vignobles Gabriel & Co.

Interview of Jean-François Reaud – Owner
Question 1: Do you already export to CHINA ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in CHINA ?
Yes in Shanghai, Canton, Pekin, Chengdu. Importers for mass distribution. We are looking for importers specializing in organic wines for the cellar catering markets.
In 2020, Vignobles Gabriel & Co formalizes its responsible and united commitment by becoming the first French wine actor recognized and certified in favor of fair trade and responsible sectors by the Ecocert Fair For Life certification label.
Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?
Our collective Vignobles Gabriel & Co, created by Jean-François Réaud, has existed for more than 20 years. Innovative and participatory, it brings together 34 winegrowers from the Right Bank of Bordeaux thanks to a hybrid model, the right balance between cooperative, merchant and independent winegrowers.
A pioneering approach that reinvents the future of Bordeaux production and distribution. Guided by the passion for our profession, we break the codes of Bordeaux by democratizing access to quality products from independent producers.
Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years ?
Fair Trade Fair For Life and our development for the next years, from 2000 and we want to reach 50% of our export sales.
