DFJ Vinhos : Combination of enthusiasm, creativity and knowledge

In 1897, the company DFJ Vinhos was established in Portugal. It is located on the Ro Tajo in Valada.

Correia’s viticulture knowledge is undoubtedly due to his family’s long winemaking legacy, as well as his studies in Germany and Bordeaux. He creates wines with creativity and enthusiasm, not shying away from innovation: for example, Correias is responsible for the introduction of new grape varieties in Portugal and also holds a patent for a method of closing wine bottles that disinfects the cork with ozone.

José Neiva Correia is not just the winemaker of DFJ Vinhos, but he is also a well-known oenologist in Portugal.

Much of the fruit used in DFJ wines is still grown on the 200-hectare vineyard, which historians call one of the country’s oldest. Its origins are said to precede Portugal’s establishment.
